This Sims 2 blog follows the lives of the Nuidya tribespeople of the southern plains, as they try to survive, thrive and figure out what exactly it means to be a dragonspark. Along the way, there'll be drama, romance, utter silliness, high-fantasy worldbuilder rambling and lots of cats. Just watch out for those storm demons - they're sneaky. :)

I haven't moved!

Hi everyone! Don't know if anyone's still reading here, but I'm more familiar with Blogger than Dreamwidth so here I am again. This is where all past and future Kulo Seeri updates will live, although I plan to post update notifications on my tumblr and my pillowfort when a new chapter goes up. I'm in the process of adding a page or two of world info and explanations of all the weird worldbuilder terms I might use, and also rebuilding again, but there will be story updates when I'm back up and running. :)

I've moved!

As I rebuild Kulo Seeri yet again, I've decided I want a fresh start for my story blog. A lot of the goofy decisions I made in 2011 feel clashy with what Kulo Seeri is now, for one thing, and I'm still always worrying about what bits of my worldbuilding might start flame wars. So I'm posting story updates to my Dreamwidth from now on. See you there :)

Happy 13th Birthday, Kulo Seeri!

It may be three in the morning in my time zone, but I'm still celebrating - because today is the thirteenth anniversary of the day I first started the hood that became Kulo Seeri! YAY!

Now, thirteen is a significant number in my life - always has been - and in the Seeriverse's numerology, it represents wholeness and harmony. So for both me as the player and my little sim world, this is a huge birthday for Kulo Seeri! And not just because my little baby hood is a teenager now. :)

I have to admit I've played a full 9-day season with my sims since my last story blog update. (It was going to just be a one-day rotation, but... snowballed.) So, as my celebratory birthday post, I'm going to run through my top thirteen off-camera events of Spring 2 NSR...

The Simmer I Am

A while back, I made a post here on my tumblr about taking a step back and working out exactly what my playstyle is - something I've been struggling with almost since Kulo Seeri's inception - and I'm pleased to inform you all that I've figured it out. In the newest version of Kulo Seeri (which apparently hates me because I keep getting resets whenever the first batch of sims I recreated tries to visit a community lot) I'll be making some changes to my playing and blogging style so I'll feel more comfortable with both. (Once the glitches are sorted.)

Below the cut, for anyone who cares, is all the stuff I've found on my voyage of simself-discovery.

A Swift Warning, 1 NSR

Freshwater Moon, 1 NSR.

Despite Etan's best efforts, the rumours about the zan-Ku clan being possessed or cursed had spread throughout Kulo Seeri. Mahali was confined to her tent after yet another random attack on an unsuspecting sim, while Sophos and Kenan mostly kept to themselves - which was not like them at all.

On top of all that, Jethro had hardly been seen since the random attacks had started. Medeia's story about him and the spirit in the lamp only increased the amount of speculation about what exactly was going on.
Brain's Night had come and gone without any of the zan-Ku siblings - except Melchol - turning up for the celebrations. The rumours grew wilder with every passing day.

Extremely Distressed, part 2, 1 NSR

Ice Quarter, 1 NSR. Mahali zan-Ku is 31, Rivadya zan-Carmela is 25, Yoshan zan-Li is 6, Daran zan-Ku is 1.

It was nearly nightfall. Nearly time for Daran's naming ceremony.

He was still napping in the tent, but already guests were arriving. Headwoman Etan and the three shamans, as well as the extended zan-Carmela clan, were there. Oddly, none of Mahali's brothers had showed up, even though they were kin to Daran, and Rivadya's family technically wasn't.

Traits and Elements v3: 3t2 Edition

Hey guys, this is the 100th post on my... eight-year-old... blog! I promise that now I'm no longer hoodless, I will be posting more frequently. Anyway, to celebrate post 100, and since it's likely to come up during Daran zan-Ku's naming ceremony, I'm sharing my most recent overhaul of the Traits and Elements system I developed for Kulo Seeri - using hexagonal-bipyramid's TS3 converted traits!
