This Sims 2 blog follows the lives of the Nuidya tribespeople of the southern plains, as they try to survive, thrive and figure out what exactly it means to be a dragonspark. Along the way, there'll be drama, romance, utter silliness, high-fantasy worldbuilder rambling and lots of cats. Just watch out for those storm demons - they're sneaky. :)

But Nobody's Home

We interrupt this very irregularly scheduled blog for another announcement from VT. Sorry it's not a story post but I really need to get this out.

I'm really sorry everyone. I just can't blog right now. (yes, I know my updates have been few and far between in the past anyway...)

You see, I'm suffering from depression. I have been for years. My emotions are currently limited to "really sad", "sort of angry" and most commonly "nothing really". I used to have loads of things I enjoyed doing - writing, drawing, music, reading, worldbuilding, all sorts - but I have lost the motivation to do anything beyond eat, sleep and play TS2, and playing TS2 has become too repetitive because I'm not getting involved in the story side enough - I just find myself playing almost mechanically. Wake up, fulfil needs, go to bed. Meh. I try but it's not working.

So it's hiatus time again. (This has been the driving factor behind most past hiatus...es... hiati?... most of the other times I've vanished for ages as well) I know you all probably expect long periods of nothing on this blog anyway, but thanks for reading/following me regardless. It's much appreciated.

I hope I can shake off the depression and get back into the Simming community soon, but I could be gone a really long time. Thank you all for understanding.

  1. VT, your courage is really obvious. Courage to be authentic about things and face the realities of life. I hope you will find more joy, more meaning. Take care of yourself, we'll be happy to see you when you return.
