This Sims 2 blog follows the lives of the Nuidya tribespeople of the southern plains, as they try to survive, thrive and figure out what exactly it means to be a dragonspark. Along the way, there'll be drama, romance, utter silliness, high-fantasy worldbuilder rambling and lots of cats. Just watch out for those storm demons - they're sneaky. :)

VT desperately needs help

So I'm rebuilding AGAIN. And I have such a phobia of setup - especially building. So now I'm sort of in panic mode.

9th Anniversary Special: A Year in Moonlight Falls, part 1

So. TS3. It has a lot of premades, doesn't it? There are the TS2 prequel Sims, the few that moved to Kulo Seeri (and, unfortunately, all died as a result of the zombie war), and... lots of random other ones. And, whatever kind of Sims game we're playing, don't we all have our favourites? In this seven-part(!) anniversary special, I'll be focusing on mine... and Zita zan-Ace's.

You see, before Zita became full-fledged shaman of Kulo Seeri, she spent time studying alchemy and other forms of magic in Moonlight Falls. Or, she was supposed to be studying. Although she may have shared some information with her apprentice, all anyone else in Kulo Seeri knows is that she came back refusing to talk about whatever had gone on there, and that she found out she was pregnant shortly after her initiation. The identity of little Caleb's father was anybody's guess.

Our story begins thirteen years later...

Mad Hair Science

So I learned a thing today. I don't know if it's common knowledge already, but apparently hair colours are not limited to the two genetic values (dominant/recessive) that EAxis set.

Here's what's going on...

Hi readers! Sorry for the lack of updates on my latest rebuild of Kulo Seeri. I will be starting that soon, honest. I've just been grappling with the worst Evil Throat Virus Thing From The Abyss Of Despair that I've had in the best part of twenty years. :(

One TS4 Lot Preview

Today I've been setting up the TS4 lots for my Kulo Seeri Sims to live on - thanks to Shannon for her last comment, suggesting using the Windenburg island and encouraging me to kick my google-fu up a notch when it comes to searching for content :)

This lot is home to the six zan-Ave siblings - well, technically they're the eleven zan-Ave siblings, but of the oldest four (the quads) two are dead and one is in the TS2 Lluza. So we have Vedrafe, the young shaman of KS, as well as the triplets Kanith, Kamiya and Zayash and the twins Elka and Teni.

You can just see them in this overhead view of their camp. I had to position the camera carefully to stop the trees fading in and out, and I have a mod that supposedly prevents that...

The huts they sleep in are clustered round a fire, providing light and warmth at night, as well as a way for Vedrafe to show off her mad dancing skillz... in honour of the spirits, of course.

I love the scenery in TS4, even if its backgrounds are technically an illusion.

Vedrafe's little shaman-y corner of the lot, with fur yoga mat, stone woodworking table and stone circle dance floor, providing another opportunity to honour the spirits with mad dancing skillz. Also considering adding the cauldron light show from Spooky Stuff... and I think I need to move the table.

Another overhead view, this time of the back of the lot. If you look by the stone circle, you can just see the flowers poking through where I've hidden the old-timey flower-covered mailbox inside a rock. Let's pretend it's some kind of moss, hey?

**********
With only two lots left to set up in TS4, I'm almost ready to start playing it - and I'm looking forward to seeing how it works! I certainly won't be leaving TS2 behind, but I have a way to go yet with Lluza. The Lluzans in TS2 have a mostly-decorated terrain, and I've placed the lots, but that's about it - maybe tomorrow I'll work on that more. Either way, nearly playing, woo!

Experiment time

Since the old Kulo Seeri went pop I've been thinking about ways to add more of a sense of actual community into KS, ways to get myself out of the rut I found myself in during its last days as a functioning hood. I had slipped into a habit of playing each household effectively in a vacuum, no major story events or ROS etc. I guess it's a response to the high drama of the zombie battle, but it still felt a little flat. In a way, the glitches were a blessing in disguise.

And now I have two possible ways to do that. So, experiment time!
